I've been using Clickbank for years, and while there may be some things that aren't perfect, it's still my favorite affiliate network. Let me tell you...
Here's what I really like about Clickbank.
As you scroll through the offers, you will notice that a lot of the listings have an affiliate page. You will come across a lot of assets that you can use to make your web pages look nice, and content you can use on your site and in your email sequences.
I've come across banners, graphics, buttons, and videos. There is usually an option to download the graphics, or link to them instead. You can get the embed code for the videos so you can display them on your site.
Some of them have a series of email messages that you can send to your subscribers. And articles that you can use on your site.
Getting a Clickbank account is free.
It is easy to get set up, and one of the great things, especially for new marketers, is that you are pre-approved to sell most of the offers. No requirement to have a web site, or a subscriber list, or traffic to your site.
Of course it is going to be difficult to make any sales without these things.
But if you're getting started, or if you are setting up a new site for the purpose of selling Clickbank offers, you can decide what you want to promote before you get started creating your site.
Next, a lot of categories and products to choose from. Arts and entertainment, home and garden, health and fitness, new age and spirituality, parenting, as seen on TV, dating, and more.
This makes it easy to find a niche that interest you where you can find several products that you can choose from.
Getting paid is easy and predictable. You get paid every other week. The commissions are a lot better than Amazon or other physical product vendors. You can easily find products on Clickbank that will pay you 50 percent commission.
There is some advice out there that you should only select products that are higher priced so you can get a much bigger commission. You won't have to sell very many to get a nice check every two weeks. However...
Keep in mind that it may be harder to get sales as the price gets higher. That may not make much difference in how much you make. If you're promoting a product with a $20 commission, you need 5 sales to make $100. To make the same amount, you only need to sell one item that pays out a $100 commission.
You can test this out by selecting a niche and then pick out products that sell for a lower price and a higher price. Set up your promotions and see what sells better. This is the only way you'll know for sure, because there is no right or wrong way to do it.
Makes Site Setup Easier
This isn't just a feature of Clickbank, and it really is a feature that each vendor provides, but the point is that on a lot of the products that you come across, you will see a link to an affiliate resource page.
Some of these vendors offer a ton of useful content. No matter what you find, you can use it to build some really nice web pages, fast. Take advantage of articles, graphics, email sequences, and videos to create a really nice affiliate page.
While some say that you should have a web site for each product that you are promoting, it is something you should test for yourself.
It is relatively inexpensive to get hosting that will let you host unlimited domains, so you could sell one product for each domain.
What I am testing right now is promoting a few products that are related on the same site. In the lose weight niche, you could promote a couple of diets, a workout program, and healthy eating/cookbooks.
Add a few articles related to each subject with links to the other articles and to the product sales page. Create review articles for each product, and link them to supporting articles. This may work better if you are relying on free search traffic.
Hassle Free Selling
This isn't exclusive to Clickbank, because it is one of the many benefits of affiliate marketing. It does need to be mentioned anyway.
You don't have to worry about:
Making sure the product gets delivered. You aren't the one who has to set up the download area or send a confirmation email so buyers can get their product.
Deal with any questions about the product. Answer any support questions. You're the one who sends the traffic, not the one who does customer support.
You don't need a merchant account or any other account, other than your affiliate account. It's up to the seller to do that. And best of all, they are the ones who have to deal with customer complaints and refunds. No nasty email messages for you!
That covers most of why I like Clickbank
Whether you're just getting started and need something to sell, or you want to add an additional revenue stream to your business, take a few minutes to look around the Clickbank site. It might be what you're looking for...
