Product Review Pages That Lead To Profits

Publishing product review pages is a great way to get traffic, clicks and sales. If you give potential buyers the information they need to make the purchase position, you will be more likely to get the click and commission.

However, the more popular a product, the more likely that there are going to be a lot of product review pages to choose from. And the more likely that you're going to have to do a better job if you want to be on the first page of the search results. 

That doesn’t mean that you shouldn't do it. It does mean that you have to do things to make your review more useful, valuable, and profitable than your competitors.

This article isn’t a training on what to do. It is more of an idea generator to point some things that you may want to avoid, and ways to see what I mean for yourself.

And why you can get a lot of tips by looking at the sites that are at the top of the listings. And what you can do so you can have a review page that is every bit as good as theirs. (Without copying, of course!).

Look At The Bad To See What Not To Do

Looking at the bad is a good way to see what to avoid. And one of the most irritating things to me, as a consumer, is when I enter a product name, followed by the word ‘review’, and search.

There are several sites that come up, but what is frustrating is when most of the time, on site after site that I visit, all I end up with is a variation of the sales page.

I already read the sales page. I know what the seller is telling me about the product, and how good it is. What I am looking for is a review, information that is not included on the sales page.

When I end up with virtually the same information on the review pages that I come across, I have wasted my time. And I’m sure not going to be clicking on anyone’s link to go to the order page.

The review page author has wasted my time, their time, and didn’t’ make any money.

Typically, these review pages have a bullet list of benefits, the same ones that are on the sales letter. And when it comes to things they found wrong, they all end up saying that there is no negative to report. Right!

What I’m looking for, what you’re looking for, and what your visitors to your review page are looking for, are reasons to buy the product.

The fact that they are looking for reviews means that they know about the product, are interested in buying it, but they still have questions.

That is why they are at your review page. They want to know all things that aren’t mentioned in the sales letter. And they want to be reassured of the benefits that were promised.

Tell Them The Truth

They want an honest evaluation. They want to know if there are things missing or negatives. They want to know what buyers who have the product are saying about it. You don't always have to own the product, but you should do the research so that you are confident that you are leading your visitor to the buying decision that is best for them.

Point Out The Negatives

For example, for a product like a wordpress plugin, the sales page may have not let the visitor know that the price was only for one site. If they have more than one site, it is an extra cost. Useful thing to include in a review.

Or a more basic case is when someone buys a battery operated item, they need to know if they need to buy batteries.

Or maybe there are a few customers who have had a damaged product delivered. If you know about that and dig around and find that the company is very responsive and will send out a replacement right away, reassure your visitor so that they can buy with confidence.

If you have purchased and used the product you are reviewing, then you can give them first hand information on what you think of the product. If you can access and get permission to use testimonials, use them.

Don’t do what everyone else is doing. Don’t copy and paste the sales page and call that a review. Do an awesome job, and over time you will get a reputation of someone who tells the truth and can be trusted. More visitors and sales for you.

When you visit the top review pages that you are competing with, study what they are doing. What type of information are they providing that isn’t on the sales page.

Offering Bonuses

Another thing, in some markets, that can give you an advantage is to offer a bonus, or even a bonus stack. See if competing review pages are doing this.

When it comes to bonuses, especially in the make money online area, make sure that the bonus is actually good, and that it’s related to what you’re reviewing. You want to have a more valuable bonus than your competition so you can get the clicks and the commissions.

The idea isn’t to copy, but to learn what they are doing that you can adapt for your own review pages.

This is something that I am working on, and this article is really just me talking to myself. I want to be the one who creates useful and unique review pages that satisfy visitors so that they will click on my links and I will make money.

All you can do is create review pages, publish them, and see what happens. I don’t know of a ‘perfect’ review. What I do know is that the only way to get results is to get your stuff out there and keep improving as you go along. Be honest, let your personality come through, and you’ll be on your way.
