Testing Your Launch Funnel

Testing your launch funnel will save you a lot of time in the long run. Even though you have been very busy getting set up, and think you have everything in order, stop. Step back and set up a plan to test each phase of your product launch funnel before it goes live.

There are 3 phases in a product launch, before, during the launch, and after.

If you have someone you trust who you can have take a look at your launch with you, do it. A fresh set of eyes can be a real asset.

Here are 4 areas that you can test to ensure that things are on the right track:

  • Checking the completion and functionality of the products
  • Conducting split tests
  • Site testing
  • JV invites

Take a final look at your product before you launch. Make sure that it meets all the benefits laid out on the sales page. If there is something missing, or something that needs to be tweaked, now is the time to do it.

For example, if it is a software, you need to make sure that it runs smoothly and is not missing any important files. Ensure all your download links are working. To play it safe, create mirror downloads as well.

Next is conducting split tests.

Split testing is when you have different versions of your sales letter, headline, copy,or ad. The way it works is, traffic coming to your site is split evenly to the different versions of the sales letter or video.

Once your product goes live, you can monitor your traffic stats and see where most of your sales are coming from. If you have a definite winner, set that as your control.

When you conduct controlled tests and gather empirical data, you can figure exactly what works and doesn't work. It will make future launches easier.

Then, test the sites.

Test your site 2-3 days before the launch. Continue to test one day prior your launch to ensure everything is in place.

Make sure that all of your links are going where they should. Test your download links to make sure that your customer will get the products they are purchasing.

Also test to see if buyers are added to a list, and that they are getting the correct email after they order.

After the order, if you want to send your customers to upsell pages, do a test purchase and make sure that you are sent to all of the pages that you set up in your product launch funnel.

The last thing you need on launch day is to find out that there are errors that are keeping people from buying!

Finally, check up on your JV invites.

Check in with them 1-2 days prior. Ensure they are provided with the correct affiliate link and the specific details of your offer. Ask them if there's anything you can do to help them in promoting the launch.

If you have 50 JVs, you must check in with all 50 of them as they are worth every single sale. Compile your JV list on a Microsoft Excel spreadsheet, so it will be more manageable and organized. This way, you can easily track who has responded to you and who hasn’t.

There are 3 things to do during the launch phase. Observe what's going on as much as you can. Respond to any support tickets and questions. And check in with your joint venture partners to see if they need anything from you, or if they are having customers reporting problems.

The first check list is about observation.

You need to once again check if everything is working on your side. From your website technicalities to the server, your sales letter and most importantly, your product or service you offer.

Secondly, answering your support tickets.

Answer and attend to any support tickets as soon as possible. If there are some complaints lodged by your clients or if they ask for a refund, check with them straight away. Remember to personalize your support messages.

It can be a bit frantic, but support tickets can alert you to any problems so you can step in and fix them as soon as possible.

Finally, follow up with your JVs.

Always motivate your JVs with cash prizes every day until the end of the product launch. This is to motivate them to continue promoting your offer.

Check in with them and find out if they are getting any feedback from their referrals that you need to address. Again, the sooner you know about the problem, the sooner you can fix it and keep making sales.

Preparation and testing can be the key that makes your product launch go as smoothly as possible. To your success...
